Drive By Shopping
If you are going to have your own garage sale, you want to be sure to put the big-money items closest to the street, where people can see them. This makes it more likely that they will stop and check out your sale. You would be surprised how many people do what I like to call “drive-bys”, which is where they asses whether they want to actually stop for a given garage sale by what they see as they pass by in their car. Then, there are the people who are not looking to go a sale specifically in the first place; in this instance putting your biggest and most potentially lucrative objects out front may change their mind. So, if you have big ticket items like furniture, large kitchen appliances or used welding equipment, be sure to situate them so that everyone can see them.
