Elderly Persons Should Use Mail Slots
For most people, the short walk to the mailbox isn’t a big deal, and it’s the quickest and easiest way for the mail carrier to deliver the mail. Sometimes, though, the trip to the mailbox can be a perilous journey, especially for an elderly person. If possible on the particular mail route, have a mail slot installed in the front door instead. This way the trip to the mailbox can be avoided entirely, optimizing the safety of the resident of the home. Snowy and icy driveways are very dangerous in the wintertime, and nobody wants to see an aging person fall and injure herself just because she needed to get the mail.
