Facebook usernames
So the latest thing on Facebook is that you can have your own ‘vanity domain’ – a special Facebook link with your name in it. Seems a bit lame to me, and I think Facebook has probably peaked and will become less popular with time. Especially as they track so much of your personal information, as well as trying to sell you stuff the whole time. For my money, anyone with any smarts will have their own domain name anyway. It doesn’t have to be your name, just something memorable that people will associate with you. And it may not be free, but if you buy your domain through GoDaddy then it may as well be – it only costs a couple of dollars to buy a new domain, and you can have an entire website to yourself!
