Gas Station Safety

With the ubiquitous cell phone comes an added danger when it comes to filling the tank with gas at the local station.  We are so accustomed to using our cell phones at all hours of the day, and everywhere we go, we don’t think of situations where they would be better unused.  When someone is filling their tank with gas, fumes escape from the nozzle.  Just a cell phone ringing in the vicinity may cause combustion and fire.  Fire spray is used as a precaution against just such an event at local gas stations.  Systems are in place at some stations that will automatically put out a fire.
