Obtaining a Free Yearly Credit Report With Very Little Credit History
My father has always saved up his money and bought things with cash. He has never had a mortgage or an auto loan. However, in the past couple of years he has obtained two low limit credit cards to keep on hand in case he is running short on cash. He tried to go online to get his first ever free yearly credit report. Strangely enough, there was no credit history listed in his name at all. I would have thought that his two credit card accounts would have been listed because they are both still open. So, this has me wondering if a person has to have a certain amount of credit history before a report is even available?
