Surprised to even find a room
I honestly didn’t think we would be able to get any taupo accommodation for the long weekend as we had left it very late to make a booking. After calling several places I finally found one that had a room available for the three nights, of course it was going to cost a little more than I had planned on spending as it was a premium room, but I could hardly complain about that when I was just grateful to have somewhere to stay. Once we got there the extra money didn’t bother me as the place was really nice and right by the lake so it was worth it.
